Could Nexstar 127 SLT be called portable?.

Recommended Posts

Just about to pull the trigger on this as I'm looking for a second scope that I can carry around easily in the car and doesn't take up the whole back seat like my 200P.

Just like to ask if this is indeed a portable set up and if possible get some ideas as to what to carry it around in.

Thanks again.

Cheers.

Depends on the size of your car :D

The OTA isnt large or heavy, and I find the mount wraps up nicely in a quilt and slots in the triangle behind the back seat.

Just remember that it requires a power source, as it is motorised only.

Very portable. I have a skywatcher 127 mak (same scope, different name) and transport it by foot to my local astronomy club. Dunkster is right, it needs a power source, although I've used the battery pack for 5-6 hours or more without them running down.
