Anyone else as new to this as me. Looked at the moon tonight for the first time using a Telescope, a cele 70az so just a basic one. So can't wait to take it some where really dark.

I'm so new I am waiting on my binoculars to arrive in the mail That should make you feel like a king. I've wanted to enter backyard stargazing for 7 years and always wanted a high end telescope to make the purchase once and make it right. I have since been gratefully directed towards the power of binoculars to make the plunge before buying a telescope. I am so new that I have joined this site without a telescope or binoculars (coming next week). I do however, have years of reading and research to bring as a consolation price for my membership

I bet you know more than me then. I had a scope when i was little but my small sister put it in the bath which was the end of it. So its taken 20years to get another. Wish I'd got a better one now. But that's life.

Scopes are a pain to transport as i can't find a decent case.
