Skywatcher Synscan AZ Goto 1145p - Motor Issues

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

New to astronomy and to this forum so please go easy on me.

Purchased the telescope mentioned above and find that when using the handset to auto-slew to a target all is OK but when I use the directional keys it sometimes doesn't move in altitude and hardly ever moves in azimuth. Anyone know why ? Could it be that the battery pack supplied with the scope isn't producing enough power ?

Also I notice I can physically adjust the altitude by hand but cannot adjust the azimuth, ie. I can't rotate by hand. Is this normal ?

Thanks

Steve

By default the mounts revert to 1x sidereal speed after slewing. As Petey has stated, pressing 2 then any number up to 9 will change the rate as which then mount moves when manually pressing the direction arrow buttons on the handset
