Hi, can anyone comment on the quality of the celestron astromaster tripod?

The quality of Celestron Astromaster series are generally very poor. What scope are you planning to mount on it, and what is your budget?

As mentioned above, I agree unless your aiming at the EQ4 or higher. I have the 114EQ on the standard EQ2 and these are prone to shake from the slightest touch, even from just refocusing. Having said that they are just right for a beginner like myself for learning and getting to know how to use a telescope. My intention will be to upgrade maybe just the mount to a GOTO on an EQ5 as I am currently happy with the scope itself.
