Eyes on the Sky: Mar 19 thru Mar 25

Recommended Posts

Messier marathons are popular this time of year, and to complete one, working one's way through the Virgo galaxies is a must. The Moon largely stays out of the way this week, providing the perfect opportunity to go exploring this area of sky - though larger telescopes or much darker skies are helpful for this. Also, Comet Garradd has returned to evening skies, slowly making its way through our solar system. This week, it's within a binocular field of view of the "pointer stars" in the Big Dipper, and two more galaxies nearby to the comet are within reach as well.

Don't miss the viewer-generated astrophotos at the end! You can submit YOUR astrophotos too (no need to be a world-class astrophotographer - point-and-shoots will take acceptable night sky shots too!) - see this page for more info: Eyes On The Sky > Home > Contact
