Red screen for an iPad2

I have various apps for the iPad which are useful whilst observing, by and large they all have a night setting which means the screen white is replaced by red. However those that use the iPad's virtual keyboard for a search don't make that go red and there is always the chance of jumping to another app which is not red or even selecting the home screens to get a different app all these actions destroying night vision.

So is there a suitable red filter for an iPad that would allow the touch screen to work?

I use Sky Safari Pro. When the keyboard is scrolling up its white. But as soon as its up it changes to red. So a very very brief flash of white. I don't find that it's a problem.
