The next stage

Recommended Posts

Well I've had my scope 10 months and feel I'm ready to move on a bit. I keep my stuff permanently stored in my campervan and am pleased with my current level of portability and short set up time.

Things I'm thinking about

1. Lunar filters

2. Better eyepieces

3. Camera or webcam

but as usual for a newbie I have more questions than answers

1. I understand filters screw into the bottom of the eyepiece. This would mean a lot of changing around as I swap eyepieces or a lot of filters, or have I got that wrong Could the filter be put in the diagonal instead? Given that I want a moon filter where do the variable ones fit? What other filter would make my viewing better given my current level of equipment and expertise?

2. I wear glasses and find my 25mm supplied quite comfortable, less so the supplied 10mm. If I buy any more eyepieces I want a discernible improvement for my money - suggestions please

3. I don't want to go the full astro route but it would nice to have a pictorial record of what I could see or as near as practicable so I was thinking of a small digital camera how would I go about that?
