advice needed on dovetail bar

just delivered my Tal 100rs and eq5 mount (now pouring with rain:()many thanks FLO was wondering with the scope being 1000mm the mounting bar looks pretty short for such a length of scope,was wondering if one of the longer dovetail bars would be more appropriate, know nowt about scopes,had binoculars for 40 odd years.thanks in anticipation.
