Do i have to remove my ir filter for astrophotography

Recommended Posts

Hi I think this is my first post so hello to all.

I have just bought a new canon EOS 450D which I would like to used day to day(newborn baby etc) but would also like to use it photographing the moon, planets and startrails etc. Do I have to remove my ir filter to do this and if I don't what effect will it have on my images.

Cake..
