cantab Posted October 14, 2011 Share Posted October 14, 2011 10x50 means 10 times magnification and 50mm objective lenses. 10x50 are the most common for astronomy.105m/1000m is the "field of view" - how far across the image you see is. In this case it's 105m wide at a distance of a kilometre. In astronomy angular measurements are preferred, and yours give a view 6 degrees across, which is pretty good.(I think the 6 is also the field of view, expressed in degrees.)
