Spec says 1/3"=approx 8mm.

Pixel size is 6micro-m square.

Pixel count is 752x480.

Thus actual sensor size is 4.5 x 2.9mm

The 1/3" refers, I think to the overall size of the chip.

Is that what it is supposed to be. Misleading until you take a closer look.

I think then that the 1/3" is overall sensor diagonal. If I do a pythagorum on 4.5x2.9, its diagonal is 5.4mm - assuming that each pixel are adjacent @ 6micro m square. The 1/3" is therefore irrelevant if your gunning for fov through a scope.
