Regarding the SW CFP2501

Hello everyone. I am on the verge on bying my first scope. I had started on the 10" DOB, but as I would like to stretch a bit further and get something that will also allow me to explore the astrophotography part as well, I have started thinking about the CFP2501 with a EQ6 mount.

Would this be suitable for both observing and imaging? I know they both are 10" so am I right to assume that both will provide me with the same results on my ventures? the CFP2501 is advertised as a photography oriented scope (wide field).

A 550D will be the camera used in any case.

As you can see I am trying to get the better part of both worlds here thus I look away from ones like the BKED100.
