Meade etx 90 Spotting Scope

Hello all,

My first post! I have a Meade etx 90 but it is the spotting scope so no mounts etc just a manual slik d3 tripod, this is a nightmare to get objects into view and at high magnification the object has gone out of view and i have to start all over again!

So i was thinking about a synscan az goto mount and tripod as the meade will screw onto the 'L' bracket, so is this a good idea / has it been done before ? or is there an alternative option i could try?
