Just interest as I`am considering joining.

It is the closest club/association to me and I feel I will learn a lot by actually mingling with more experienced star gazers rather than just reading stuff etc..

The Federation of Astronomical Societies will have a list of groups near you, just look under 'fedastro' via the search engine. I don't know Bedford AS personally but the website looks comprehensive.
