Light Pollution is caused by steet light's and i visible when you see an orange smurge across the sky blocking light from stars entering your eye. I am only young but apparently you could see much more than you can see now years ago. A shroud covers the gap in a flextube telescope like the 130p. I'm a begginer myself but I think it stops light from interferring between the primary mirror and eyepiece. Google it!
