When I’m slewing my lx-90 16 inch scope about the RA axis, it starts jerky motion as it approach the horizon and reverses direction. Some times over and over again. Is this back lash and what can I do about it?

Finally was able to reposition the RA lever and was able to tighten. Thanks for your advice.

I’m having trouble removing the screw from the RA lever. Does it take an ordinary Allan wrench?

Thanks. I was able to contact a representative from Meade and he had similar recommendations. We will see if it works soon.

I’m having trouble with my 16 in Meade in that that the RA axis slips when I am slewing to an object. The RA latch does not seem to firmly latch. I’m not very mechanically inclined, but will try anything if told what to do. As I’m sure you know it’s an expensive scope and I basically have no support. Desperate.
Back lash?

Thanks. It doesn’t get that close to the horizon. I can not slew very deep into the western skies. Not really functional. Will try repositioning the weights eastward as I’ve seen on other posts and adjust backlash settings on my control. Will try contacting Meade again next week. Getting pretty discouraged. Appreciate any other ideas anyone might have.
