I like to tell people that the light of the object your looking at , may have started towards us about the time of the Roman Empire . People who have never been in our hobby have a hard time wrapping their head around that one . The other question always ask is " how powerful is that one ? "

Public outreach is always a blast for me . Young and old alike , it's exciting when someone see's a planet or object for the first time . their reactions are priceless . Good for you for volunteering .

What size are you looking for ? I have some T2 metal spacers, much better, than plastic in my view. Let me know and I will see what I can do.
Regards Andrew
Have you put metal spacers in a mount rebuild before ? Seems like metal on metal would not be as smooth as Delrin or Teflon . I know these mounts don't move at high speed . wondering why Atlas didn't install those type ?

i called superior and i would have to buy 100 of each size .

I didn't think the shims would work being metal . I was under the impression Delrin is kind of self lubricating . I did just send a e-mail to Rhnuttall . they have them , just hope i don't have to buy 100 of each .

Well after having a serious thread on the mount forum , and a funny one on the lounge . No one on the planet has a source for these silly Delrin washers . I don't understand how everyone says to use them but no one knows where to get them ! The Badder ones are the wrong size, and the ones that astrobaby suggested are not good . If I can't find these things my EQ-6 will be turned into a boat anchor , plaese help !

Chasing down a set of Delrin spacers is like chasing down the Skunk Ape in the swamp , You catch a quick glimps of em and then there gone... or you have to buy 100 of each size . anybody have a source ? They must be made in a enchanted forest of Nurgles who slice thin shims off the Delrinan trees . I do have a thread with pics showing my plight in Mount Forums. Help quickly i hear the Nurgles approaching !!

Doing a EQ6-G and ordered a set of Delrin washers . Upon arrival I was alittle surprised at what i received . The washers were stamped out of a sheet with dull dyes . Believe me when I say i'm here to bash . The man was very nice , the price was excellent , the service was fast . We communicated after the fact and he said he would refund my money . ( which i wouldn't do ) My question to you fine folks is ..if i try to sand most of the imperfections out should i use these ? The only issue i think about is the rips on the inside , can't sand those out ! I'm putting alot of effort into this mount and i don't want to do something that i shouldn't .

I have a EQ6-G that i bought new . Used lightly for about 4yrs. Then stored for years in a Pelican case . Decided to do a tune on it and I’m following Astro Baby’s rebuild . Taking apart the ra found the mount has been grinding away . The pic is a side view . 180• around is polished . Will this affect the performance in the end ? Thanks

In the process of a regrease an EQ6-G noticed damage to the nylon spacers . where would one find Delrin spacers ? Thanks
