Freddie, you are right.............when I was trying to Merge the L with the RGB I had not resized the L and my RGB were smaller as they were binned 2x2. When resized I could merge all 4.

When I had the original problem of not seeing the Channel Merge option, my B image was 1 pixel bigger than the R and G.When I resized it to the same size the Channel Merge was available.

Neil, you are right, just tried it.With the L open in PS the Merge Channel is Greyed out.

Very strange......sometimes I can use the rgb merge and other times if I change a file it is greyed out and I had to progress by copying/pasting into new rgb file.

Great Primer, very useful to an rgb beginner.

This has been really useful in doing my first LRGB but struggled on one point.

With L/R/G/B all open, all Gray/all 16 bit, I couldn't open "Channel Merge" it was still Grayed out. There is probably a simple answer but I couldn't find it.

Any help much appreciated.
