  At 5am could pick out Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, Rigel and the belt in the gathering dawn. Too light to see M42 though.

Now I see where Mr Messier was coming from. Just sweeping with the bins and wondered what a globular cluster was doing near Almach. Then realised it was Lovejoy...
