Thanks for posting Trazor. I totally agree re your comments on using a binoviewer rather than one eyepiece - it works for me.
I haven't seen your ad for the etalon. I just wandered if it was a 50mm or 60mm? I have a 60mm Lunt and DS it with a second 60mm etalon, and use it with my binoviewer with SW 40mm eyepieces. I nearly always use it in this configuration and the 40mm EPs give a nice view, plenty bright enough for me. I occasionally use it with 32mm EPs in good conditions, though it does go a little too dull with the 32xs for my liking - still usable though. Going to 25mm EPs is too dull for me.
I would also add that I always use a dark cloth over my head for solar observing as it makes a huge difference in what you can see as you probably already know.
Which ioptron cuibe mount is it you are using by the way?
Regards, Paul
The etalon I have for sale is the LS50F, surprised I've had no interest at the price I ask.
My wife made me a black opaque draw string cloth tube, which omits all extraneous light, yes it makes a massive difference.
The ioptron was the mini tower 11, which I have now sold.
I would not recommend it, as the clutch was prone to slipping, perhaps newer ones are better.- 1

My 60mm Lunt with Bino viewers, the second Etalon is only attached for the picture.
The view through Bino viewers is too dark with the second etalon added. That is why I have the second etalon up for sale.
I find that Bino viewing gives far more detail than Mono viewing, I would never go back to single eyepieces for Solar viewing.
The Denkmeir 21mm eyepieces, give me the best views so far, of any pairs I have tried.

Is that a Tak scope on the right??
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes it's the Tak collimation scope.
Gave me quite a fright, last time I fitted it to the 3" starlight focuser in my refractor.
The brass compression ring, unbeknown to me, was a perfect fit into the recess of the 2" adapter........
When I came to remove it, I spent at least 10 to 15 minutes jiggling/pulling it, and I was starting to sweat over what the outcome would be.
Luckily it came free, and I have not fitted it since.
The recess is machined dead square, so I need to get a slope machined into it, to allow the compression ring to ride up and over.

wow what are those docter's, they look really nice
The Docter eyepieces are 12.5mm, and are the best Bino viewing eyepieces that I have ever tried.
Superb contrasting views, great eye relief, and easy to look around the field of view.
Those are serious good glasses Have you been able to get a first light with L-O-A 21?
They only came a few days ago, and I'm waiting for the right sky to try them out...........

Recently sent a Lunt LS50F Ha second Etalon, for repair to Bresser Germany.
They replaced a faulty tuner mechanism, and returned it to me.
They did this free of charge.
Considering I was not the original purchaser, I felt this was Wonderful after sales service.
A big thumbs up to this company.

Small update on my cases.Got a binoviewer now and that one sits in the big case together with 2" Baader/Zeiss prism,ExSc 30mm,telrad and a pair or max visions 24 and 16mm (trialling them).
other pic is my "Precious" case with 2 full sets of BGO's and a set of Meade research grade orthos and Erfles.Does look like a serious ortho addiction
Any chance of a report on your Binoviewers, I am looking to get the same pair.

I have made a vow never to buy another eyepiece ever again.
My wife says, if I ever buy another eyepiece, she is going to bang my head against the Keyboar9uydg$%()(jjoierufhpwuioeheuiywyyy%$$%^&**Ij,kljdfvoievjowerijfniorejfjwio77%$£$£EEDFGJI988weufiwehfpiowufiopjfpwioeu9eui^&ED%^&$RSD^&I^*(*9h98wer34uiniuh87^&%F^YUuy

I started my interest when very young, and still live in the same area.
It was dark skies when I was young, not so dark now.............
Show us your set up in action at night.

When I saw this picture, Just for a split second, I imagined your Dob in orbit, over clouds, and the Earths horizon on the right.
