Hi Tim,

No it's a Lino membrane, the pier is bolted directly to the  concrete, a low deck onto which the  Pod sits   with a Lino membrane between the two,sealed on the inside of the Pod ... stops the moisture.

Carpet might be a thought, kinder to the knees! or knee pads lol.

It's 98 inches in Dia ... The full dimensions are listed on the Sky shed pod site. As for ergonomics .. I spent a lot of time on my knees viewing Cygnus lol. 

The whole dome could do with being taller to accommodate a larger pier, it's a bit of a tight squeeze. 

Using Nichrome wire and a battery charger to shape foam, the template allows me to replicate the cut through each layer.

5" APM sat on a cradle of cut foam with diagonal and finder in a Peli case

2 steel screw bolts stop the pod dome from being opened and the door is fitted with a lock......plus I have an alarm fitted
