My first "proper" image with new setup, another Horse & Flame in Ha
Despite the forecast, the cloud stayed away on Saturday night and I managed to capture my first decent image since moving to an EQ mount. The last few weeks have involved getting my new imaging rig up and running - learning how to operate the guider, getting the right settings in the DSLR and (reasonably) accurately drift aligning.
My setup now consists of a modded NIKON D3200, 7nm Baader Ha filter, Sky-Watcher ST120 Achro w/moonlite focuser, Baader MPCC as flattener and Nexguide with Starg
Going back through my data this evening and it looks like I made a bit of an error.
I noticed some eggy stars on the left hand side of the image that I claimed was 6hrs of exposure time, so I manually checked all the frames and none had eggy stars so figured the problem was in DSS.
I reran the images through DSS in the exact same order only to notice that the output file was only 3hrs of exposure!!!
Long story short, I made a few settings changes and got DSS to stack all the subs,
