Red dont finder mounting help please...

Hello all - i have recently bought an Orion Skyquest XT8i dob and it came with a non standard red dot finder which I have found on line.

Rambo Holosights, High Quality Reflex Sight Hmmm - Nice ha ha

Looks cheapo but seems ok and looks just like an unbranded Orion EZ finder delux

Orion EZ Finder Deluxe Reflex Sight - SCS Astro

The problem is that the dovetail bracket and std. footplate on my telescope is around 30.5mm

and the foot on the finder is about 27mm.

It was held in place by a strip of wood when I bought it and was a bit wobbly so wouldnt hold position well.

What would be the best way to make it fit i.e

• Some sort of reducer?
  
• A different footplate?
  
• A different dovetail bracket?
  
• Ditch the finder for another?

I have this problem too! Cant get a good alignment! What does that mount do exactley that website is not very detailed!
