Vixen A80MF Refractor on NexStar 4SE mount

Pretty sure the 4SE uses the VIxen dovetail mount...

Would it be considered too lazy do you think?

Or just not pratical/possible?

I think the Vixen tube length is way too long for the mount, but yes the mount does use a dovetail.

Must admit I was basing it more on weight than anything else.

As long as I don't choose to look at anything too vertical then I thought it would be fine?

The Vixen weighs less than the 4SE, and (dare I say it) might be a better focuser than the 4SE which I find fails miserably using anything more powerful than a 15mm lense.

(These are the standard Celestron multi-lense set so obviously not the best)

This might be of help to you. Your mount would be a lot sturdier than this!
