Hi,

I have been wanting to start this hobby for a while now and i think after a few weeks of obsessively researching bit and pieces online i will take it up.

I have recently over the past 6 months watched programs such as stargazing live and wonders of the universe on the bbc and various other programs which have inspired me to learn basic astronomy.

I am currently looking at purchasing a pair of binoculars (hopefully a basic pair of 10x50 Porro) and i have started to learn constellations a various other things in the sky.

Look forward to learning a thing or two on here.

Hi Matt

A very warm welcome to the SGL, binoculars are fun and easy to use I like to use both Bins and scope, Strathspey binoculars give a good view if you are going for 10x50 ,you would see more with 15x70 for just a few pounds more
