Counterbalancing an AZ3? Will this work?

I have the exact same setup ST120/AZ3. I found the pivot point for the ST120 with accessories attached by noting the balance point on a felt tip pen barrel- sort of like a see-saw.

Then put a small length of shiny sticky tape on the ST120 tube so when I mounted it up I could adjust the scope rings to get correct balance point.

Makes a big improvement
