skywatcher frac focuser help

Recommended Posts

hi all, i have a second hand st150 refractor its the old helios but same as st150, the focus tube seems a bit loose and has a bit of a wobble to it, whats the best way to tighten things up, i seem to remember they have plastic shims inside the draw tube?

The usual first step is to carefully tighten the two very small socket grub screws that are located on the top side of the focuser. The pinion shaft is also adjustable relative to the rack with the four screws that hold the shaft in place. A carefull balance between these adjustments should result in a smooth slop free action.
