M57 Cracking!

I am not sure if it is just my new scope or a combination of that and a spanking sky last night, but M57 when viewed from my location at about 2:30am was just the best I have ever seen, which made me happy, as it has always been one of my top three objects (mainly because it was the first DSO I found by myself way back).

I have never been able to resolve it much in a Barlowed 10mm...but I did last night! I went to bed a very happy man.

I am so annoyed my alarm didnt wake me up last night a 4:00 to see the ring neb. it was such a good night. maybe next time.

Yep, got up at 4am and WOW!! all the old favourites were back.

Cygnus flying down the Milky Way, Arcturus and Lyra with Hercules sitting on the fence. It's a pain to get up, remember where you left your shoes, back door key and red torch. It's well worth it.

Agreed, the sky has been really decent on both Thursday and Friday for me here in Barton, very black with little twinkle of the stars, made for some excellent observing on a good few objects

M57 is always great. I always visit it, even if briefly if Lyra is up high enough.
