FOA Dobbie. Hopefully we will be able to get a group of people across Leeds/Bradford. I live on the north side of Leeds and there are some dark sites up there, The intention is not to limit it to one location so that many people can get a chance to join us.

If anyone else is interested we will be meeting this Saturday morning at 10am in Avanti (next to Barclays) in Ilkley. If anyone is interested just come along for a chat.

Hope to see you there,

Neil

It's in Ilkley town centre. Coming from Leeds, as you drive through the town on the A65 you reach a main set of traffic lights at a cross roads. Turn left at these lights and Barclays bank is up the road on the right hand side of the street. The coffee shop is next door.

I'll be there too!

Edit - double post, Neil you got there first ha ha!

So we finally meet....:(

Neil and I met this morning in Ilkley for coffee, we had an excellent chat about our observing, our scopes and life in general. Neil is a thoroughly nice bloke and I would recommend that anyone reading this come along the next time we meet up. I can't talk about telescopes with my wife :) so it was great to meet someone with the same interest.

We discussed observing sites also and I would say are looking to do an observing meet within the next month or so. Bear in mind it will be spur of the moment, most likely organised by text message due to our fickle weather. Therefore it would be good to meet more of you and exchange numbers in the day time, before we actually get out into the dark.

So come along to our next coffee meet!

Best regards Steve

I had a brilliant time. It was great to meet up with a likeminded individual and not have to worry about boring someone about the endless telescope tech talk, haha. Steve you are sound guy and the greatest compliment you can get from me is that only my wife manage to beat you in the time it took to get my real mobile number.

Two people is a start and it would be great to have more. This is a great idea we have and it will only get better with more people.

Be warm and safe,

Neil
