The clearest and darkest yet Experienced

This evening we went for a meal in a tiny village way out in the country. When we came out, I experienced the darkest sky I've ever seen. The milky way sweeped right overhead with such clarity and glory, and I'm sure if I looked long enough, I would clearly see andromeda and the Orion nebula. I didn't know such stunning skies existed so close. Now I just can't wait to pass my driving test and get a car out there with my telescope in the boot.

It was quite a mind blowing experience, but disappointing that we were on the move home and I only saw it for a matter of minutes.
