... I did find a chromacor for sale but the seller wanted an unrealistic £350 for it and given I could probably get a nice S/H apo for that much I decided not to bother. But a 150 & Chromacor dose sound tempting. I still think the 150/EQ5 is pushing the boundaries but if you say it works it might be worth a try I guess

£350 is OTT for a used Chromacor - I paid less than half that for the two I've owned. They are pretty rare though.

If correctly installed they do get ED doublet performance from a 6" F/8 achro though. The last real 6" ED I saw for sale (a used Vixen OTA) went for around £2,000 I believe.

have just star tested the helios with new focuser................its ace, really good focus and well collimated both with 32mm and 12mm plossl`s
