It looks as though it'sgoing to be a good day weather wise, so I might have a go at these onece i've done the kid's party round

Had a peep out the window with my funky sunbins. Two very obvious spots to snap at. I think a spot of PST when I'm dressed could be in order.

Still haven't bought any more film yet so it'll be a quick spot (ahem) with the 14x25s fer me - cheers fer the heads up 8)

I popped out with my scope and took a look at these spots. At first it was a little tricky pointing the scope in the right direction, as the shadow of the scope was on long grass. Once the finder was burning a hole in my hand, our star was visible in the 25mm. I centered and focused, and the spots were very clear. It was a first for me and a very different experience from night time observing. I saw the corona, and the "wobbly" fiery surface - very impressive.

Went for a look a few minutes ago, using my 7x50 finder with a Thousand Oaks filter. It was either not powerful enough to pick up those two small spots, or the haze that I have to look through is enough to obscure them. I may put the scope on the mount if the sky clears right up in a little while.
