M101 in the mist

As the title says this was taken during that horrid mush we had recently.

About 5 hrs of data over 2 nights using 4 min subs with a modded Canon 1000D on a SW 190MN at F5.3 guided with PHD/QHY5v stacked in DSS with darks and flats then processed in PS.

Many subs were just too bad to use due to the mist/smog,

Wow, you've got worse LP problems than I do...but my lights don't go out. Great job getting a good image out of the murk.

Terrific result, nice colours. I would have never attempted it through the murk. Interesting that the local streetlights make a lot of difference.

Thanks for the comments, the mist makes the LP much worse due to the scattering on proper clear nights the conditions are significantly better.

I simply have had no success in getting decent colour on M101 since I sold my big 14 inch LX

Nice result to dig that colour out under those conditions. It must be good to have the lights that go out but I guess it makes you think about what to image before they go out.
