Reservoir Star Trails

I lay on the 45 degree reservoir dam at Pitsford Reservoir, Northampton, for about an hour, gazing at the stars while I captured this shot.

I took 16 shots at around 4 minutes each, so about a 1 hour exposure, blended in Startrails software. Contrast tweaked in Photoshop.

Canon 550D 18-55mm lens.

Next time I'll find a different location with less light pollution, and stay for 2-3 hours.

Looks good- been trout fishing there once or twice! Light pollution is always going to be a problem close to Northampton. Maybe try facing north at the Holcot causway?
