Foam

I've got a perfectly useable case that I want to store my (astro!) bits and pieces in to keep them out from underneath 'er indoors dainty feet, however I need some new foam (or equivalent) to put in it and cut out the relevant sized holes etc - where can I get some from and is foam the best stuff to use?

Jessops do spare diced foam sheets, not sure of the dimensions you need but they might do the job:

Don't use regular foam as the little bits will get into everything.You need the proper packaging foam. Plastazote is one of the names to search for but unfortunately it will be probably be cheaper to buy a new case.

Maplins has some that are quite reasonable (£19.95)

I fitted out some cases using foam from ebay. Described as 'camera foam'.

Avoid upholstery foam at all costs.

Thanks for the advice guys, Tha Maplins case is more or less exactly like the case I've got - wonder if they sell the foam seperately?

i got some from a local hot air balloon maufacturer

its the stuff they line the bottom of the baskets with

it wasnt cheap though but its very tough and gives lots of protection

dont know if you have any place like that near you
