Looking for an all purpose LP reducing filter

I am looking for a light pollution reducing filter for my 2" eyepiece and was wondering if that is what a UHC filter was for, or am I misunderstanding the concept?

the uhc is more for nebulas than just light pollution

I use an APM UHC filter, which works well for gaseous nebula like Orion and planetaries. It is less suitable for reflection nebulae and galaxies, though galaxies with a lot of star formation (usually spirals and irregulars) can benefit. I have an older Celestron LPR filter, which is quite similar, but suppresses the background a bit less.
