Skyliner 200p Dob - No Stock

After finally deciding to bite the bullet and buy a Skyliner 200p Dob (my first scope) I can now not find any stock and there was also a price increase, so doesn’t always pay to wait.

Been waiting myself, planning to get it next month though so fingers crossed the stock will be available and down in price.

Just looked and the shop I was planning to purchase from has raised the price by 10%

I must admit, im not surprised, the skyliners are popular and the 8" is a nice size. With high demand comes high prices in todays climate I guess.

My 8" Europa F4 OTA is on sale. Making a dob base is not difficult. Buying a base is even easier, if you have the money.

I somehow suspect that the Japanese Tsunami will have a general upward effect on prices of anything the Japanese make... optics, electronics, etc.

The competition just got less and the prices just went up. Go figure!

Don't delay your purchase if you can - fuel prices (ie: delivery charges) aren't shrinking anytime soon, either.

It looks like prices have gone up across the board.

Sky watcher 150P on FLO has gone from £239 to £285.

I got my Evostar 90 (EQ3-2) from Rother Valley optics, it's gone from £178 to £209!
