lookhigh
Posted this a few days ago, would like to get some more opinions. What is the best 2" barlow to use with my baader zoom, if a barlow can be used succesfully with this at all.The reason i want a 2" is because i want to get a 2" wide angle ep and maybe use it with that, again i don't know how feasible that is. brantuk
I regularly use an Antares 1.6x barlowe with my 2" ep's including the Hyperions without the negative lens group and it's fine. The zoom gets a little faint though as you approach the 8mm setting (effectively 5mm) yielding 300x magnification in the dob - needs a very clear night
lookhigh
THX brantuk. good to know they work well with wide angle EPs. Heard a lot of good stuff about the TAL ones.
John
The TAL's are good but the Antares is one of the best there is IMHO.I use it with 100 degrees field of view eyepieces and it's superb
