First successful moon shot with DMK41 - 8th March 2011

It was quite windy during this shot and I probably went a bit overkill with the gain/sharpening (hence the noise) but at least Registax didn't overlap the frames like it did on my other attempts over the last couple of days.

Actual dimensions: 1267x946.

I guess I'll need to pick up an SLR camera for full lunar disc shots...

I suppose. My solar one is a 400 and I can photograph the whole Sun with the same camera though the window is quite small so what you say makes sense. I'll give the matter serious consideration. Costwise it'd be cheaper but I need to consider things like space. The thing is I was thinking to pick up said camera anyway for constellation/deep space shots and such.

Basically whatever's the best way to photograph a full-face Moon up close and personal I'd be inclined to go with that.
