Hi everyone,got really interested last year with an adult GCSE in astronomy & recently got a Meade goto 2130 ,currently powered by 8x1.5v batteries.,with a male & female connector as per a flat 9v battery.considering changing to mains via a 12v transformer,any experiences/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the welcome messages. The itch do buy something may have got too strong, so after reading some reviews, I found a celestron astromaster 130-EQMD, Which is essentially the same scope my mate has and at a bargain price.

They were selling like hotcakes so I thought I'd get one before the were all gone. It was cheap enough I won't be too dissapointed should I need to upgrade further down the line, and I'm sure it will keep me busy for a while. Will certainly look at getting a copy of the recommended book and post what I manage once I get it all set up and working.

Now to wait for the postman!!
