dew control-vivarium heater what watt

can anyone see a problem with using a vivarium heater as dew control.

they start at 14w upwards,anyone know the sensable w to be used.if you fancy it yourself google vivarium heaters,the type i thought good is the cable type that could be wrapped around the dew sheild?

£15 start. these look a very reasonable alternative to dedicated overpriced ones.

Hi, the wattage you need depends on the scope, about 20 watts for an 8" SCT I think.

Just had aquick look at the vivarium heaters, a 15 w one is 3.5 m long.

That means for an 8" sct you'd need to wrap it round nearly 5 times.

It doesn't say if these are 12v DC or 240v AC?
