Would a skywatcher explorer 130p synscan az goto for £150 be a good deal and would it be suitable for a beginner ?

The price seems good. Its about half the price of the going rate for the brand new scope of the same specs.

Is it 2nd hand?

The SW Explorer 130P is the most popular choice of 1st scope for beginners. It is a great scope and has great optics.

If it is 2nd hand then i would say try to visit the seller before you buy and have a look at the condition of the scope and even try it out first before parting with cash.

Hi,

I bought one recently and I'm really happy with it.

Providing it's in a good shape £150 is a good price, indeed.

I'm sure most of SGL members would agree that this is a pretty decent beginners' scope

Love mine but it was only about £240 new from FLO.

Don't rely on batteries for long though ;-)
