And it's Hello from me, Hello!

I bought a 114mm Celestron when I started back into astronomy, I found it very capable, on a par with a TAL-1 I'd say. It now resides in France with my pal, who is enjoying it very much, as is his 12 year old son.

Hi and welcome to the lounge. I'm new to astonomy myself but I can recomment Stellarium and a book "Turn Left at Orion", which is aimed at beginners with small scopes. It gives you some ideas of what to look for and where to find them.

Hi and welcome to SGL from me too. Are you thinking of using your photographic background in astronomy too?

Thanks for all the warm welcomes.

Hopefully I want to link my photography into my astronomy.....fingers crossed!

Hi there, welcome to SGL.

I'm still on the Bino stage due to financial constraints but I would recommend having a look at this Post in the Bino viewing Forum. Lot's of really great links with lists of objects to find each month.

Happy hunting and clear skies.
