Hello all.

I`ve had my Skywatcher Explorer 200p 18 months now, and i when i received it i just put it together straight out of the box. Have i over done it with the bolts on the dove tail. At the time i just attached everything that fitted. Now i`m wondering if the allen bolts to the sides of the hex bolt are needed. Any thoughts anyone?

IIRC The two smaller bolts are used to adjust out any cone error...

You don't really need to worry about it for visual use.

Billy...

Can you explain further? Looking at my mount, I'm not sure I can work out what exactly adjusting the outer bolts would achieve.

[edit]

Ignore me... it's actually all in the SW manual.

Thanks for the replies.

Pook, i can`t see any reference to the outer bolts in the manual. It looks to me that by tightening the outer allen bolts actually pulls against the middle bolt. Which doesn`t achieve anything as far as i can see.

Thanks again for the thoughts.
