Polar scope cleaning?

My polar alignment scope seems to be growing some alien lifeform, does anyone know if it easy to remove, clean and reinstall? Or is this a return to manufacturer job. Re-alignment seems to me to be the main issue.

The mount is an Tak EM-200.
