Computer control of the ALt/Az Supatrak mount....

It might be worth working your way through this thread its not a simple process...(thats modding the mount not reading the thread)

There are a numner of ways to do this.

1. Buy a Synscan V3 handcontrol and reflash it with the AZ firmware - you can now use the mount with goto or connect the handset to a computer using the supplied cable.

2. Make an interface module as described on this website Merlin mult-function interface.

3 If your laptop has a bluetooth connection you can use this module Merlin Supatrak bluetooth interface. I think the latter is a commercially made version of option 2 using the same board and a bluetooth-RS232 dongle.

4. You might be able to use a FTDI cable FTDI cable for EQMOD

thank to all for the responce.only used this site for the first tme today, so not sure how to use it yet. lik to try the merlin unit but don't speak french. try and get a translation.thank again.
