Comet chase

Bit of a leap of faith but according to the weather sites, it's going

to be clear around sundown this evening.

So it's a gathering of the cameras and the mini mac for a trip up

the hill for a good westerly horizon to image/view the comet.

Hope any of you guys wanting to do the same get a chance......

Yes i hope to ctach it this evening also, really gets to me when i miss a comet because of the stupid UK weather, it's hard enough finding a place where i can see the horizon in London!

I'm doing the same Phil, having seen the comet in Binos this morning!!! I was just about to post a thread about it.

This evening is probably the best shot at the comet for pictures, but sadly I can't haul the dob up the lane for it

The tail really is fantastic!

Wall to wall cloud and howling down with rain at the moment

Clear here - strong winds though. According to the reports we got frost tonight and storms comin in from the north for the rest o the week. Will hope the clouds hold off till 7am so I might get a peek at the comet - otherwise am stuffed

Clear horizon in london! im frantically scanning the horizon for it, but can't find it, i've located venus and am looking below right to it, anybody got any pointers!?

found it! naked eye comet, shes a beauty!

still not got clear enough skies here in leeds but I think we might be just a bit too far north to get it anyway and too built up too

Found Venus, couldn't find the damned comet.

Rather PO'd now and blumming cold.

Sorry Kain, but from here the comet was maga bright with a long tail (around 5 degree's IMO), could see it through my office window - with the lights on.

When it comes around the sun it's going to be AMAZING. For the first time in ages I'm gagging to get an and see it!

Go out again Kain, but you'll need a damn good horizon.

and shes gone! i managed to get it in the 10" reflector, AMAZING!! could see the nucleus very clearly, even when naked eye observing the tail was very long, man im so happy i thought i was going to miss it!

Had to walk down the road to see west, so took my bins and camera phone with me - got her!

Took her and the kids up onto the pennines and as we were driving there she spotted it, naked eye and all! What a beauty! We all had a go with the Bins. and it was ace.
