Came across this on eBay. I belive that OO has now discontinued this f/l. Starting price £279.00.

you are right John. they don't offer this currently as far as I know.

I can say this is a truly superb planetary scope. other objects are still good but I prefer my 12" for them.

the base is tall and spindly and not as sturdy as other models and has a very long tube (60") so it is naturally top heavy.

see my thread for some of the mods I made, most of which I consider essential, especially the reduction of the toppling risk by adding some weight at the bottom. I hope this helps people considering buying this.

ps it's also a comparatively rare scope. Barry or John at OOUK said that in terms of numbers of this scope ordered and sold it was a collector's item!

If I didn't have the SkyWatcher 150PL f/8 now fiited with an OO 1/12PV mirror I'd definately be bidding on it.

Just got to get the dob base for thr 150PL finished now.

I'm still debating whether or not to pay for my optics to be re-figured to 1/10PV from 1/6PV but not sure if it's worth it.

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on getting one after reading Shane's review a while back, was gutted when they stopped making them. I think I'll go for it.
