First Orion Widefield

Recommended Posts

Orion was probably one of the first constellations I learned to spot, and it's certainly the first one I taught my daughter (who can spot it a mile off now!)

We had a clear hour this evening so we started to set the scope up, then decided to try a widefield instead.

Fuji S3 with Sigma 18-50mm DC on a Jessops budget tripod.

ISO800, f8, 35mm, 13x 15" lights, 10 darks. DSS + Elements (levels and curves.)

Not the best result in the world, but we can see a little bit of nebulosity going off and Orion himself stands out and as such this is going up on my daughters wall tomorrow :)
