M45

Its a start I guess, at least you can tell its Pleaides, well I hope so! Not sure if the red dots are hot pixels, but I can't recall seeing red stars in anyone elses M45.

As I'm still coming to terms with polar alignment, I only managed a 10 sec exp before the trails appeared.

Anyhow, I'm pleased I managed to capture something, I just hope I can progress further..

Taken with the Canon, Frac and LP filter..

Looking good Caz. You have the same purple problem as me with the achro I see, not an easy (or cheap) way round that. Very obvious what it is though.

CC, does the baader moon and skyglow work well with your achro at all? Does it reduce the purple haze?

Not enough to notice Gordon, it mainly gets rid of the LP though, which is a start.

Nice one Caz. 8) Tried M45 myself a couple of nights ago but got dreadful star trails so got annoyed, shouted at the cat and gave up. Got the whole kit indoors only to find I'd got the wiring connections for the R.A. and Dec motors the wrong way round. :oops: :oops:
